Samantha Pious

is a translator, poet, editor, and medievalist with a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Pennsylvania. She is the author of a poetry collection, Sappho Is Dead (Headmistress Press, 2024), and the translator of A Crown of Violets (Headmistress Press, 2017), a selection of poems by Renée Vivien. Individual poems and translations have appeared in Ancient Exchanges, Doublespeak, e.ratio, The Gay & Lesbian Review, Lavender Review, Mezzo Cammin, and other journals.
