Ivan Bilibin

(1876-1942), Russian illustrator, set and costume designer for the Ballets Russes. Most famous for his depiction of folkloric material with an Art Nouveau touch. He left Russia after the Revolution, but returned in 1936, and died of starvation in the siege of Stalingrad.
