Delmira Agustini
the Uruguayan poet, lived only twenty-eight years, from 1886 to 1914. Her first volume, The White Book, appeared in 1907 when she was only twenty-one, established her immediately as a leading Decadent and Symbolist. Her early work is like the best of Albert Samain. When she was twenty-seven, in 1913, she married Enrique Reyes. eleven months later she divorced him. A month after that, Reyes shot her to death and then killed himself.
